Scientific Background
KPV is a tripeptide (lysine-proline-valine) derived from the C-terminal sequence of alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (alpha-MSH). In vitro studies and mouse models of colitis have investigated its anti-inflammatory activity via modulation of the NF-κB pathway, notably independent of classical melanocortin receptor binding.
